Women's Premier League Points Table

The Women's Premier League is an Indian T20 franchise tournament organized by the BCCI after the successful developement of the IPL over the years. The response the WPL received from the viewers end and the growth of its revenue motivated the Board to introduce the women version of the league. Started in 2023 with a total of 5 teams representing different franchises, the WPL is another success on the rocks for the BCCI. The teams play their best cricket on the field and offer tough contest to other teams in order to be at a competitive position on the Women’s Premier League points table.

The arrangement of all 5 teams in a tabular manner showing all the details and numeric data on the number of wins, losses and the net run rate is known as the WPL points table. It gets updated on the basis of the team’s performance throughout the tournament with each win taking the team closer to the peak spot and nearer to the qualification scenarios of the league. Simply, each win gets the team +2 points and the team with the most number of points reaches the top. If incidently, two teams remains on a tie on the WPL T20 points table at the time of the qualification mathermatics, the team with a superior NRR (Net Run Rate) is given the priority to qualify.
