Twitter Hails Ishan Kishan and Surya Kumar Yadav As They Lead Mumbai To A Decent Score
Updated - 22 Apr 2018, 11:54 PM
Riding high on the innings of Ishan Kishan and Surya Kumar Yadav, Mumbai Indians posted a total of 168/7 against Rajasthan Royals. Having won the toss and started to bat first, Mumbai Indians suffered a massive blow losing Evin Lewis for a golden duck.
But youngsters Ishan Kishan and Surya Kumar Yadav did a commendable job in putting the innings back on track. Both of them scored fifties and added 129 runs for the second wicket. Surya Kumar Yadav made an impressive 72 runs in just 47 balls. His innings featured 6 fours and 3 sixes. His partner in crime, Ishan Kishan also made a fifty coming back after suffering a horrific injury on his cheek bone in the last IPL game.
However, Mumbai lost three wickets in a flurry. Ishan Kishan was the first to get dismissed, while Surya Kumar Yadav soon followed suit. To add salt to the wound, Rohit Sharma was out on the first ball courtesy of a mix up in the running. This has helped Rajasthan Royals reduce the rate of scoring during the final overs.
Soon Krunal Pandya and Hardik Pandya also lost their wickets in search of quick runs. Jofra Archer was the pick of the bowlers as he managed 3 wickets in his 4 overs. Rajasthan Royals should fancy themselves to chase this total down.
Here is how Twitter reacted to Mumbai’s innings
Took Archer every game but didn't play. Didn't take today, he takes 3. #FantasyCricketWoes

Heck, Mumbai making a complete hash of it! 3 wickets lost for next to nothing, none worse than @ImRo45's completely insane run out.

Rohit Sharma makes @KKRiders and @GautamGambhir realize that the only player they didn't utilize for years (apart from making him VC) is actually a gem! ?

First ball duck for Lewis. Almost picked him in my fantasy side before thinking about the law of averages.

So can Jofra immediately get his pace up and hit 90 mph like he has done in CC, T20 Blast, BBL or PSL? Only he would know about his match fitness 🙂
