Kris Srikkanth, a former captain of India and chairman of the selection committee, chose Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, and Hardik Pandya as “real finishers” above Dinesh Karthik as a “fine finisher.”

The UAE will host the Asia Cup beginning on August 27. On August 28, India will launch their campaign against Pakistan.

In addition, Dinesh Karthik would undoubtedly find a spot in Kris Srikkanth’s squad for the Asia Cup. “I would like to nominate Dinesh Karthik; he fits in with my team, too.”

Dinesh Karthik was re-inducted into the India T20I team for the home series against South Africa following his outstanding IPL 2022 performance for Royal Challenger Bangalore. Since that time, he has been given chances to finish. He was also included in the BCCI’s 15-person Asia Cup team.

‘I would call Dinesh Karthik a fine finisher’: Kris Srikkanth

Kris Srikkanth made the following comment when discussing the finest finishers for Team India at the Asia Cup: “I would describe Dinesh Karthik as a decent finisher, but Suryakumar Yadav is a true finisher. He excels in completing tasks.”

“You have the excellent finisher, Rishabh Pant. You have Hardik Pandya, a fantastic finisher as well. I should perhaps clarify that a finisher is a player who leads the team from the eighth over to the twentieth over,” On the Star Sports program “Follow The Blues” Srikkanth stated.

“A finisher? What do you mean by that? The finisher, in my opinion, is the one who can take the batting from the eighth or twelfth over and go through the twentieth over to help India win the game. Where is the strong finisher when he starts from the eighth or sixth over?”

“Both Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul are strong finishers. By the way, they start opening. I just can not conclude that because he bats in the final five overs that he is a finisher.”

The Men in Blue will begin its Asia Cup campaign with the high-octane clash against Pakistan.
