Former Pakistan National Cricket Team player Danish Kaneria has said that the India National Cricket Team are building bench strength and keeping an eye on the future while Pakistan National Cricket Team are not at all focused on creating bench strength.
Arch-rivals India National Cricket Team and Pakistan National Cricket Team will go head-to-head in the second game of the Asia Cup 2022 on August 28 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

While previewing the Asia Cup 2022 clash between India and Pakistan on his YouTube channel, Kaneria said mentioned that Pakistan have played very few T20I games since the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 and India, on the other hand, have played a lot of games, but mostly with their second string side. He added that Pakistan need to show some courage like India and start creating their bench strength for the future. He elaborated:
“Pakistan have played very few T20Is since last year’s World Cup. They have played seven and won six. They played one big T20 game against Australia and lost that as well. In comparison, India have played 24 matches, winning 20 (19 to be precise). India’s ratio is much higher and they have mostly played their B and C teams. As Rohit Sharma said, India are creating a bench strength.
“India are looking at the future. Unfortunately, Pakistan are not thinking on similar lines. There is no emphasis on creating a bench strength. They need to change their mentality and show some courage. On the Netherlands tour, they could have given young players some chances.”
Danish Kaneria Shares His Views On Pakistan’s Top 3 In T20Is
Danish Kaneria further talked about Pakistan National Cricket Team top-order batters Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman. He said:
“Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are a highly successful opening pair and they make an impact. Left-handed batter Fakhar Zaman will come in at No. 3 in my playing XI. There is inconsistency in his batting, but still, he is good at 3.”
Meanwhile, the Asia Cup 2022, which is the 15th edition of the tournament, is scheduled to be played from August 27 to September 11. The entire tournament is set to be held in United Arab Emirates (UAE) with the hosts Sri Lanka taking on Afghanistan in the opening clash.
The tournament was originally set to be played in Sri Lanka but was shifted to United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to economic and political crises in the country.
