Notably, on Saturday, August 20, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) released a statement in which it was asserted that the star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi’s right knee ligament injury, which he sustained while fielding during the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle, has ruled him out of the Asia Cup as well as the home series against England.

It was further stated that the young pacer has been advised 4-6 weeks of rest by the Pakistan Cricket Board Medical Advisory Committee and he is expected to return to competitive cricket in October.

“Hasnain will join the side from the United Kingdom, where he is representing Oval Invincibles in The Hundred competition,” PCB further wrote.

Meanwhile, the Asia Cup 2022, which is the 15th edition of the tournament, is scheduled to be played from August 27 to September 11. The entire tournament is set to be held in United Arab Emirates (UAE).
