Sohaib Maqsood, a Pakistani batsman, believed that Pakistan’s World Cup games against India were lost due to overexcitement.

Up until October 2021, Pakistan had lost each of its World Cup contests with the Men in Blue.

In the T20 World Cup encounter at the Dubai International Stadium last year, Virat Kohli’s India was defeated by Babar Azam’s Pakistan by a margin of 10 wickets. Shaheen Shah Afridi, captain Babar, and Mohammed Rizwan all worked together to overcome India. Before it, Pakistan struggled to compete against India in an international tournament, regardless of the format.

Maqsood’s last appearance for Pakistan in a T20I series was in August 2021 against the West Indies. The right-hander was subsequently disqualified from the T20 World Cup. Additionally, Maqsood has played a significant role for Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Sohaib Maqsood added that Pakistan is starting to play better in games against India.

“The Pakistani team became overexcited during the World Cup matches, which is why the green shirts consistently lost to India” (sic). However, in recent times, our squad has begun treating Indo-Pak matches properly, and it has also boosted our performance,” Maqsood was quoted as saying on Geo News.

The next matchup between India and Pakistan will take place on August 28 in Dubai during the 2022 Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In the 20-over championship, the teams may play three games.

India and Pakistan will compete against one another in the T20 World Cup in Australia at the renowned Melbourne Cricket Ground later this year.
