Virat Kohli finally broke all the shackles and registered his 71st Century in the International Arena. Due to his knock, the Indian Cricket Team ended their Asia Cup 2022 on a high note by winning the match against Afghanistan by 101 runs.

The star right-handed batter was looking relieved as he hadn’t scored a century in the last 3 years. Kohli’s return to form has been the major positive point in the Asia Cup 2022 irrespective of a below-par performance by the Team.

KL Rahul who had come back from injury had a topsy-turvy Asia Cup 2022. The batter would be hoping that he gets the last chance against Australia T20I Series to showcase his worth. The management now has a headache given Virat Kohli has smashed a century while opening the batting.

KL Rahul’s Interesting Remark on Virat Kohli

During the post-match press conference, KL Rahul was asked whether Virat Kohli should open, “Toh Mein Kya Khud Baith Jaau fir? (Shall I bench myself then)”, quipped Rahul at the question with a sheepish smile before adding, “Obviously Virat Kohli scoring run is a huge bonus for the team, the way he played today I know he is very very pleased with the way he batted today – he has been working on his game for the last 2-3 series and that worked beautifully today and as a team.

“It is important that every player before going to the World Cup get some time in the middle. If you play 2-3 innings like that, your confidence will be high then it gives you the best chance to be our best selves in the World Cup, so really happy that he could play that way.”

We have all seen Virat Kohli over the years, it is not that only when he opens he scores five hundreds, he can score 5-6 centuries even if he bats at No 3. It is all about the role in the team and today he played the role beautifully, maybe in the next series his role is different he will do that with his best performances and we have seen that over the years and there is no question mark over that,” he added.

Virat Kohli Vintage 2.0

The Star right-handed batter made a strong statement that he is not done yet. Even if the opposition was Afghanistan, we should not forget that how they almost won against Pakistan. The pitch was a belter and Kohli made sure that he sticks to the crease. The batter played some wonderful shots and there was impeccable timing.

The former skipper has returned back to form at the perfect time when T20 World Cup is just around the corner. Rohit Sharma, the skipper wasn’t a part of the match and that move did pay off as a billion people got to see the Vintage Kohli. Kohli would be aware that his job is not done yet; the dashing batter has to be consistent and provide stability in the middle order which has not shown a lot of promise.
