IND vs HK: "I Don't See Hardik Pandya Bowling Against Hong Kong": Parthiv Patel On Hardik Pandya's Workload Management

Parthiv Patel believes that Hardik Pandya may not bowl in India’s forthcoming Asia Cup 2022 match against Hong Kong in Dubai on Wednesday, August 31.

During a Cricbuzz conversation, he urged that Pandya be rested for the match because he is not expected to bowl. The former India cricketer suggested that the iconic all-rounder be given a rest before the Super Four stage.

For the match against Hong Kong, Parthiv believed the Men in Blue should think about switching Deepak Hooda for Pandya.

“I can not see Hardik Pandya on the field to bowl against Hong Kong. Since he will not bowl, there is no point in forcing him to participate. He is confident and we are aware of his bat skills. He bowls well and plays solid defense. Therefore, Deepak Hooda might replace him if he decides not to play.”

Hardik Pandya, who made a huge contribution with both the bat and the ball, was the mastermind behind India’s remarkable five-wicket triumph over Pakistan. The talismanic all-rounder was praised by Kapil Dev for his outstanding effort in the important match.

But he said that because the player is prone to injuries, it would be crucial for him to take care of his body. He believed that if Pandya sustained another injury, the Indian team would suffer greatly.

“Any all-rounder is a cherry on the cake. Pandya made us so proud and the only thing is that he has to look after himself because the person of his ability gets injured then the whole team gets injured. Nobody can doubt his abilities, but the only thing that I am worried about sometimes is his injuries.”

The fourth game of the 2022 Asia Cup will feature India vs. Hong Kong. The Dubai International Stadium will host the contest.
