Notably, Pant was left out of India’s starting lineup for the Asia Cup 2022 opening against Pakistan.
India’s subsequent Asia Cup 2022 match will see them square off against Hong Kong. The game is scheduled for August 31. (Wednesday). The match will take place in the UAE at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Both teams are in the tournament’s group A.
Rohit Sharma is India’s captain during the 2022 Asia Cup. Nizakat Khan is the leader of Hong Kong. Hong Kong won the qualification final against UAE to earn a spot in the competition. India won their opening match of the 2022 Asia Cup by a margin of five wickets over Pakistan.
We saw him play a blinder of an innings in one day against England: Saba Karim
Pant has appeared in 54 Twenty20 Internationals for India, scoring 883 runs at an average of less than 25. After IPL 2022, the wicketkeeper-batter led India in a 5-match home series against South Africa, but he is yet to reproduce his success in the longer versions of the game in T20I cricket.
“That is the enigma from which Rishabh Pant must emerge. But recently, there have been glimpses of the kind of form he is shown in Test matches.
“We witnessed him play a brilliant inning against England one day. Similarly, there have been some outstanding performances,” Saba Karim stated this on SPORTS18’s daily sports news program ‘SPORTS OVER THE TOP.’
“Maybe not continuously, but I believe Rishabh Pant still has a lot to learn in T20 cricket. He is a much better player now, but I believe that with more exposure, Rishabh Pant will gain confidence and provide considerably more value to this T20 team as well,” Saba Karim continued.
On Wednesday, India will face Hong Kong in the Asia Cup 2022. (August 31). With a win in the game, India would top the group and advance directly to the Super Four stage.
