IND vs HK: You Can’t Judge Whether He Was Seen In That Rhythm Or Will Come In That Rhythm - Gautam Gambhir On Virat Kohli's 59* vs Hong Kong

Virat Kohli looked in some sort of rhythm after quite some time after scoring an unbeaten 59 off 44 deliveries against Hong Kong. However, many felt the knock was sufficient to make a judgement over Kohli’s return to form.
Even though Virat didn’t look as lethal compared to what we’re used to, he made sure to capitalise on the opportunity to get some runs under his belt.
The runs were important: Gautam Gambhir on Virat Kohli’s innings
This knock will certainly give the senior Indian batter the confidence to get back to his old best, but Kohli’s former teammate Gautam Gambhir feels that the 33-year-old will need to put more effort to score runs consistently.
“You can’t judge whether he was seen in that rhythm or will come in that rhythm. But the runs were important, you have to put in the effort to score runs in the middle, whoever the opposition might be,” Gambhir said on Star Sports.
India’s top order is silent with the bat:
KL Rahul is back in the team after 4 months of recovering from a hamstring injury and COVID-19. The Karnataka batter isn’t looking at his best. Rohit Sharma, on the other hand, isn’t having the best season either with scores of 12 & 21 in the Asia Cup so far.
Virat too, is short of runs for the last one year or so but it’s good to see the way he capitalised on this opportunity while KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma couldn’t do that.
Kohli played a decent 35-run knock against Pakistan as well which shows the mighty batter is looking to regain his lost form.
Despite being out of form he still averages more than 50 in T20Is with a strike rate of 137.2 which shows his class.
Team India had a terrible outing in the last T20 World Cup, and they badly want Virat Kohli to be among the runs to perform well in the T20 World Cup 2022 Down Under.
India have qualified for the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup 2022 with a couple of wins. On Sunday (September 2), the Rohit Sharma-led side will face the winner of Pakistan vs Hong Kong (to be played on Friday).
