Afghanistan spin bowler Rashid Khan hailed Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya for his awe-inspiring match-winning performance against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2022.
Hardik scored 33 off 17 balls and registered bowling figures of 3/25 as India defeated Pakistan by five wickets in the Asia Cup 2022.

Hardik was a watchful when India were chasing 148 in the slog overs. He opened his hands in the last couple of overs.
He smashed three boundaries off Haris Rauf in the penultimate over to get India closer to the margin. With seven runs needed in the last over, Nawaz castled Jadeja on the very first ball.

Nawaz bowled a dot ball to Hardik on the third delivery to mount the pressure, but the Indian all-rounder, nonchalantly, launched him for a six-over long-on to take India past the finishing line with two balls to spare.
Hardik Pandya has shown composure in crunch situations: Rashid Khan
Rashid, who is teammates with Hardik at Gujarat Titans in the IPL, said he wasn’t surprised with what the 28-year-old did in the recent match.
“In the IPL, Hardik has shown composure in crunch situations and has taken his team over the line. This is exactly what he did yesterday as he was clear to take the game till the end and then finish it off. India have really missed him in the past few games. The hard work that he has done in the IPL has really helped him a lot and the result is in front of everyone,” Rashid told reporters on Monday.

“When I played with Hardik, I realized he is someone who likes to take huge responsibility and that is something that has helped him through his leadership in the IPL as a captain as well as a top four batter. So when such players take more and more respnsibility, they only get better with time,” Rashid added.
Rashid Khan’s Afghanistan will play their second match of Group B against Bangladesh on Tuesday in Sharjah.
