After being examined by the BCCI medical staff and testing negative for COVID-19, Dravid left for Dubai. On August 27, he also attended India’s practice session. In addition, the squad still has VVS Laxman, who was appointed as Dravid’s interim coach. Laxman is anticipated to attend the match between India and Pakistan before leaving and maybe returning.

Laxman previously went to Zimbabwe for the ODI series with the Indian side. Along with vice-captain KL Rahul, Avesh Khan, Deepak Hooda, and others who had travelled from Harare, he joined the team in Dubai.

Virat Kohli, a former captain, will play competitive cricket again for the first time since taking a break at the Asia Cup. He will play in his 100th T20I if he participates in the opening game against Pakistan. Following the 2022 tour of England in July, Kohli eventually took a break because, as he acknowledged, he was “mentally down.”
