Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja thinks that when ace batsman Virat Kohli regains his previous form, everything would have finally normalized following COVID-19.

He noted that before the coronavirus outbreak, Kohli was a steady run-scorer. Jadeja added that now that everything is gradually returning to normal, the only thing left is for the right-handed hitter to score huge runs again.

These comments were made by the cricketer-turned-commentator during a conversation on Cricbuzz ahead of India’s critical match against Pakistan in the upcoming Asia Cup 2022. On Sunday, the game will be held at the Dubai International Stadium (August 28).

“Life will return to normal once Virat Kohli starts scoring runs. I am hoping that is the case. Because life has not been normal in the last few years. If life is returning to normal, one thing is also returning to normal: when Virat Kohli steps out to bat, he usually scores runs.”

Hardik Pandya has been outstanding with the bat: Ajay Jadeja

Ajay Jadeja also spoke about how Hardik Pandya has showcased tremendous batting form lately. However, he emphasized that the player has enjoyed great success while batting in the top order.

Ajay Jadeja suggested that the talismanic all-rounder will have to move down the order during the Asia Cup. He opined that Pandya has been more effective at the No.3 and No.4 spots.

“Hardik Pandya has been outstanding with the bat. The issue here is that he has performed admirably at the top of the order. Now, with this side, he returns to No.6 or No.7. He has not looked as good in those spots as he has when batting at Nos. 3 and 4.”

Pandya will be an important component of the Men in Blue’s strategy against Pakistan. The 28-year-old has recently played in international cricket and had a huge effect on both the bat and the ball.
