Team India head coach Rahul Dravid believes that Virat Kohli’s performance is not a problem for the management following his vital knocks against Pakistan and Hong Kong.

Kohli scored 35 runs in the first match, then an unbeaten 59 runs in the second, and will enter the Super 4 stage with a lot of confidence.

The batsman showed some potential against Hong Kong, as he and Suryakumar Yadav contributed a critical 98-run* stand to a massive total.

As per Rahul Dravid, Kohli has had time in the middle of the field in the last few games and will keep up the momentum to end the campaign on a strong note.

“Kohli is returning after a break, and it is good to see that he is in good shape and eager to play all these games. He had some free time in the midst. I am hoping he would pick it up from here and have a fantastic campaign” Rahul Dravid said ahead of the Asia Cup Super 4s game against Pakistan.

Dravid stated that he is less interested in the number of runs the batting maverick scores than he is in the impact that his contributions would have on the team’s strategic plan.

“How many runs he makes does not actually matter to us. People tend to become slightly fixated on Virat’s statistics and figures in particular. It really is not about that for us, “Rahul Dravid said ahead of the Asia Cup Super 4s game against Pakistan.

“It has to do with the contributions he makes at various points throughout the game. Even a tiny donation helps us a lot in T20s; it does not have to be in the 50s or 100s or a stat. He is very committed to giving strong performances, “added Dravid.

India will face archrival Pakistan in the Super Four match on Sunday.
