Shadab Khan made fairly direct remarks about Virat Kohli when speaking with reporters ahead of the Asia Cup match against India on Sunday.

Team India will play Pakistan in a blockbuster Asia Cup 2022 match on Sunday night (August 28) in the shortest format of the tournament.

Since the start of the 2022 Indian Premier League earlier this year, Kohli has had trouble with the bat; in 22 innings (both in the IPL and on the international stage), going back to the league’s inception, the former Indian captain has only recorded one score of fifty or more.

During the England tour, Kohli failed to score more than 20 runs in any of his six innings across all formats. Kohli was given a sabbatical from cricket as he missed the series against the West Indies and Zimbabwe after a poor performance on the tour (both away).

Virat Kohli has performed quite a lot: Shadab Khan

Former cricket players have offered their opinions on Kohli’s performance a lot. Some of them held the opinion that a prolonged hard patch had caused Kohli to lose his confidence. During the press conference before the team’s opening match against India, Pakistan’s Shadab Khan had an interesting response when a reporter brought up how some people do not think the Indian batter inspires fear among bowlers.

“Because they (previous cricketers) no longer play, they believe he does not instill fear.” He is a game legend who has earned a huge amount. You are a little scared whenever he shows up since he is a huge player. “We do not want him to play a long game against us,” Shadab explained.

For the first time this year, the two teams in men’s cricket resume their rivalry after Babar Azam’s squad defeated the other team by a margin of 10 wickets in the T20 World Cup in 2021. One of the primary areas of interest for the match on Sunday night is the return of one of India’s great batsmen, Virat Kohli, to the lineup.
