Ind vs Pak: Twitter Reacts As Rishabh Pant Misses Out From India's Playing XI
In Dubai, the toss is important, especially in the beginning of a tournament. Significant benefit goes to India tonight because they are bowling first.
They make it very obvious that finishing is a particular duty, and Dinesh Karthik holds his spot while Rishabh Pant loses it to Karthik in that regards. Avesh Khan was picked over R Ashwin to handle the ball.
If Pakistan had won the toss, according to Babar Azam, they would have chosen to bowl first as well. Hasan Ali, Naseem Shah, and Shahnawaz Dahani are Pakistan’s fast bowlers. Hasan Ali and Mohammad Hasnain are not playing for Pakistan.
We Won’t Mind Experimentation: Rohit Sharma
Even though India will be without Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel, they appear more composed heading into the Asia Cup. They are much more tactically aware now than they were before. However, on game day in T20 cricket, these factors can all be completely ignored. Especially when the teams play each other so infrequently.
“When there is an opportunity to try different combinations, we will try. Along the way, if we make mistakes or face difficulties, we’re okay with that. We have spoken about it as a group, and there is nothing to fear”, Rohit Sharma had said that India will keep experimenting in the lead-up to the T20 World Cup and leaving Pant out seems to be part of that experimentation.
Twitter Was’t very pleased with Rishabh Pant missing out, here is how they reacted:
Rishabh Pant has gone from batting at no.5 to no.4 to no.5 again to no.4 again… to captaining the Indian T20I team, to opening the innings … to warming the bench in Asia Cup opener.
That's January to August. #INDvPAK

You can't drop a big match player like Pant. Either don't pick him in the squad or play him in the Xi.

Leaving out Rishabh Pant is a huge call and a sign towards the favoured line-up at the T20 World Cup. It is also an acknowledgement of how India want to play with DK as a power finisher. Don't be surprised to see Jadeja at no 5 today, though.

No Rishabh Pant in the playing XI, neither is Ashwin. Dinesh Karthik preferred over Pant. #INDvsPAK #INDvPAK #AsiaCup pic.twitter.com/WjPfBkixTs

.@GautamGambhir: "It's a bit of a surprise that Dinesh Karthik was preferred above Pant because there are a lot of right-handed batters for India. I would've taken Rishabh Pant."#INDvPAK #AsiaCup #INDvsPAK

I don’t understand why Dinesh Karthik? You’re keeping young firing talent away from such a match! STUPID DECISION to not play Rishabh Pant! #INDvsPAK
