In the Men in Blue’s 2022 Asia Cup match against Pakistan on August 28, former Indian cricketer Reetinder Singh Sodhi has identified all-rounder Hardik Pandya as the man to watch out for.

The 28-year-old sensationally returned to the international cricket stage, and his all-around talent has provided the team with a great deal of balance. As of late, Hardik has proven to be a true wicket-taker, winning Player of the Series in the T20Is against England.

The United Arab Emirates will host the Asia Cup 2022 from August 27 to September 11. (UAE). On August 28 at the Dubai International Stadium, the Pakistan National Cricket Team will square off against its bitter rival, the India National Cricket Team.

Hong Kong, which qualified for the Asia Cup 2022 by winning the Qualifier Round, is in Group A with the Indian Cricket Team. India wants to win a hat-trick of championships after winning in 2016 and 2018.

The Rohit Sharma-led team will be aiming for their eighth title and, more significantly, they have a score to settle with Pakistan after humiliating them in the 2021 T20 World Cup. The competition is set to begin on August 27th, when Sri Lanka takes against Afghanistan.

Reetinder Singh Sodhi had this to say about the in-form all-rounder in an interview with India News Sports:

“Hardik might be crucial in the India-Pakistan game, in my opinion. He has been in fantastic form recently and has made an outstanding return to the team. So, while there are stars like Rohit, Virat, and Babar, do not rule out Hardik Pandya having an impact.”
