India vs Pakistan: Pakistan Must Capitalize On India Missing Their Premier Bowlers: Sarfaraz Nawaz

Former bowler Sarfaraz Nawaz believes Pakistan should try to exploit India’s depleted bowling attack in the upcoming Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The Asian titans will square off in the tournament’s second match on Sunday, August 28 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

The Men in Blue are missing both of their top pacers, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami. Shami was left out of their squad while Bumrah was ruled out with a back injury.

In the T20 World Cup match in Dubai in October 2021, Pakistan defeated India by 10 wickets. Nawaz, who played 55 Tests and 45 ODIs, believes Pakistan should try something similar.

Pakistan Have Not Faced Tough Comeptions In Recent Times: Sarfaraz Nawaz

“Bowlers win matches and since India’s premier pacers Bumrah and Shami are missing out for the clash, Pakistan must fully capitalize on the situation and replicate the same results from last time around,” Nawaz was quoted as saying in an interview with Cricket Pakistan.

We were playing against weak teams. We haven’t faced tough competitors and we will see how the team will perform in the World Cup,” he stated.

Nawaz also demanded that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) prepare lively pitches for home matches. Earlier this year, two of Pakistan’s three Tests against Australia ended in draws, prompting Nawaz to request that the PCB focus on pitch curation.

“They [PCB] need to concentrate on the curation of pitches. They make completely dead pitches and that was seen during the series against Australia. The pitches are supposed to be lively and have a pinch of grass,” Nawaz added.
