PAK vs AFG: "This Reminded Me Of Javed Miandad's Six": Pakistan Skipper Babar Azam On Naseem Shah's Winning Six Against Afghanistan

Naseem Shah played one of the most fascinating cameos in the history of T20I Cricket. The youngster struck two back-to-back sixes and gave a heart attack to the Afghanistan Cricket Team who were so close yet so far. Pakistan Skipper Babar Azam was in awe and he compared the sixes to the Great Cricketing Legend Javed Miandad. Pakistan’s victory against India meant that India is knocked out of the Asia Cup 2022 final.
The Men in Blue will play a dead rubber against Afghanistan on Thursday (08th September ) where they would like to avoid humiliation by losing against Afghanistan.
Pakistan Cricket Team would be having mixed emotions as they almost made a mess out of a comfortable run chase. Pakistan got a reality check which may be at the perfect time as they would be ready for a tougher challenge against Sri Lanka in the final as well as in the Super 4.
Babar Azam on Naseem Shah
Babar Azam was quite praiseworthy on Naseem Shah and compared his hitting with Javed Miandad during the post-match presentation.” In the back end of my mind, I thought it is T20 Cricket, and I have seen Naseem bat like this, so I had a little bit of belief. This reminded me of Javed Miandad’s six in Sharjah”
” In our batting, we didn’t execute our plans very well, but Naseem was outstanding. To be honest, the dressing room was very tensed. The team was walking in and out of the dressing room. Excellent with the way Naseem Shah finished it off.” Babar Azam said.
Pakistan’s Middle Order got Exposed
Pakistan’s Middle Order has been exposed as none of them took the responsibility of staying till the end. The likes of Shadab Khan & Iftikhar Ahmed showed a lot of promise but the pressure got the better of them. Batting Coach Mohammad Yousuf will have to do some serious talks with the batters as this is not the sign of a champion team.
We all have seen how dependent Pakistan Cricket Team is on Babar, Rizwan & Fakhar. But this is not what T20I Cricket demands. The middle order batters must be ready for a stiff challenge rather than getting a platform all the time. Pakistan fans would be aware that Sri Lanka can easily dethrone them and get a comprehensive victory on both occasions.
