Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja noted how people’s perception of Hardik Pandya has changed in recent years after the catastrophe in 2019 over his appearance on a talk show.
In January 2019, Hardik along with Indian teammate KL Rahul featured in “Koffee with Karan” a popular talk show hosted by renowned Indian filmmaker Karan Johar.

The viewers showed rage over some of Hardik’s comments which were deemed “misogynistic” and “sexist” remarks.

The Indian all-rounder faced backlash on social media and the consequences went to such an extent that both players were suspended by the BCCI. Hardik and Rahul were called back midway from India’s tour of Australia.
The suspension was revoked two weeks from the time it was implemented. Hardik is enjoying a purple patch of his cricketing career. Led Gujarat Titans to victory in IPL 2022, returned back to the Indian team and made several records, and finished the match against Pakistan recently.
Hardik starred in the India vs Pakistan match with a top-notch performance, scoring 33 off 17 balls and claiming 3/25 with the ball.
The public had a different perception of Hardik Pandya after Koffee with Karan’s appearance
Ajay Jadeja explained how Hardik faced the wrath of the public over the talk show controversy, but there is a new image of the same player after a change in performance.
“Two years ago, when he and KL Rahul came out after drinking coffee, what did people think about Hardik Pandya then?” Jadeja said on Cricbuzz.

“The public or who didn’t know him thought different of him. They had a different perception of him and he had to battle it. Today after winning, the perception is changed and the battle is over. His battle is not with anyone, its enjoyment. Leave the game, he is also enjoying in life right now,” he added.
India will play their next game of Asia Cup 2022 against Hong Kong on Wednesday (August 31) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
