Rishabh Pant, the wicket-keeper batter was seen hitting some gigantic sixes at the nets ahead of the high voltage clash. The left-handed batter knows that his place is in danger as Dinesh Karthik has made an unbelievable comeback to the International Arena. Many experts though believe that the duo can feature in the same playing 11. If that happens, then it would be interesting to see at what position Pant will bat as he can be used as a floater.
Earlier in the tour of England, the wicket-keeper batter was asked to open the innings. That experiment didn’t work quite well as he faced some tough times with the new ball. Though, he had a good Caribbean tour down the order where he was hitting the ball sweetly. It looks like the management will make him bat at the No.5 position which is very much critical, especially in times of crisis.
Rishabh Pant looks to make a statement
The dynamic wicket-keeper was seen hitting one-handed six in the nets. The batter has shown tremendous potential but somewhat doesn’t have promising numbers in the T20I Arena. He had posted a video on social media stating: “Good Day at the office” with a witty remark ‘better video quality.’ The batter knows that India vs Pakistan match will test his character as last time in ICC T20 World Cup 2021, he couldn’t score a significant score.

Rishabh Pant needs to make it count
There are ‘n’ chances that the wicket-keeper batter could be promoted up the order just to up the ante. If he can score quick-fire 30-odd runs in 10-12 balls then it’s ice on the cake. Pant doesn’t need to finish the innings as that responsibility is given to Dinesh Karthik who is quite good at it.
The wicket-keeper batter knows the importance of wicket and should look at playing straight shots. He has a very good bat swing which helps him easily to clear the fence. In 54 T20Is, Pant has scored 883 runs with 3 half centuries with a strike rate of 126.32 which does a kind of injustice to his talent. It won’t be wrong to say that the batter’s career is on the thin line as the likes of Ishan Kishan & Sanju Samson are waiting in the wings.
