The cricket batting sensation Virat Kohli had a gruelling training session for the Asia Cup 2022. The Skipper Rohit Sharma and Babar Azam are due to lock horns on Sunday for a thrilling encounter. This clash will be the first one after the T20 World Cup 2021 where Pakistan had given heart attacks to a billion people.
Virat Kohli has been running out of time to revive himself. He is looking out of form and finding new ways to get out. Indian Cricket Team is set to play only 3 competitive series (Asia Cup, Australia & South Africa) before the marquee event. Rohit Sharma would be hoping for one special knock from Kohli as having an out-of-form batter hampers the team’s dynamics.

On the England tour, his highest score was 20 which too in the Rescheduled Test Match. The white ball leg fixtures proved to be a nightmare as his off-side woes continued. BCCI and management have given him ample break by not naming him in the Caribbean tour and Zimbabwe fixtures. The management knows that the Cricket Schedule has become more than hectic where work-load management is the key.
A video shared by Paktv on YouTube shows Kohli preparing for the much anticipated Asia Cup which is going to be played in the T20 format as a preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. The tournament had got postponed due to Covid-19 as previously it was scheduled to take place in 2020.
In the video, the former skipper could be seen facing the spin trio of Ravichandran Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Ravindra Jadeja. One thing was noticed as Kohli was seen stepping out of the crease and smashing the bowlers. It’s an ominous sign for other teams’ spinners as in UAE the slow bowlers are quite effective.

It looks like the management doesn’t want Kohli to play second fiddle as recently the team has adopted a fearless approach which has been quite productive. The team has convincingly defeated England and West Indies in their backyard and has set new standards.
The 33-year-old batter may be under the pump but he has amassed 3308 runs from 91 innings and has played some match-winning knocks. A lot of experts have also questioned his place in the team and it would be interesting to see how he responds as he hasn’t scored a big score since November 2019.
