IND vs NEP: Watch - Rohit Sharma And Hardik Pandya Livid With Shardul Thakur For Sloppy Fielding

India and Nepal are crossing swords with each other in the 5th game of the Asia Cup 2023. Captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first. Although they have picked wickets in clusters it has been a disappointing game for them in terms of fielding. 

India is having the worst possible outing in terms of fielding in the ongoing game. They have been very sloppy on the field as they have dropped quite a few catches and have let go of easy boundaries as well. The latest culprit was none other than Shardul Thakur. 

Shardul Thakur displayed a poor performance at the boundary ropes which made skipper Rohit Sharma and vice-captain Hardik Pandya livid. The all-rounder bowled a short ball to which the Sompal Kami ramped it over the vacant first slip.

The ball went towards the boundary, where Shardul Thakur came running to his left from third man. He, however, couldn’t gather the ball as it went towards the ropes. As he made an error, Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya looked in disdain. Here’s the video:

This was, however, not the first catch that India dropped. Shreyas Iyer dropped an easy catch in the slips on the last ball of the first over. If this was not enough, Virat Kohli on the first ball of the second over dropped a sitter at covers and then Ishan Kishan too dropped one easy catch.

IND vs NEP: Shardul Thakur breaks partnership as he picks first wicket for India 

Asked to bat first, Nepal were going great guns with the bat. Kusal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh played aggressive cricket and smashed Indian bowlers all over the park. They smashed 65 runs for the opening partnership but the man with a golden arm Shardul Thakur broke the partnership. 

Shardul Thakur bowled magnificently and found the outside edge of the Kusal Bhurtel’s bat. The batter was back in the hut for 38 runs. After that India removed quick wickets and were back in the game.
