The winning boundary’s hitter, Dinesh Kartik, praised the performance of Axar Patel and Rohit Sharma and welcomed Bumrah’s return to the squad.

“Rohit was trying to tell me what the bowler would do. I had my plans. As a middle-order batter, it is all about execution. It feels good to hit the winning runs. Rohit with the bat and Axar with the ball stood out. It is also good to see Bumrah back,” said Dinesh Karthik after India’s win in Nagpur.

Team India has to take the momentum: Dinesh Karthik

Dinesh Karthik emphasized that after levelling the three-match series at 1-1, Team India needed to keep moving forward.

“We need to take the momentum forward, 1-1 is a good score. You want to play those crunch games. But more importantly, we are happy to have put up a show for the crowd with no injuries,” Dinesh Karthik added.

In a rain-drenched T20I match in Nagpur, Rohit Sharma gave India a significant advantage by winning the toss and choosing to chase. The game was postponed by two and a half hours due to the outfield’s waterlogged condition caused by Nagpur’s overnight rainfall.

Umesh Kumar was replaced by Jasprit Bumrah, who returned to the team, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar, whose form had taken a minor fall, was replaced by Rishabh Pant. Australia replaced batsman Josh Inglis with all-rounder Sean Abbott in the meantime.
