Team India is all set to host Australia for a four-match Test series followed by a three-match ODI series. The Test series is a part of the ongoing World Test Championship. The Aussies are currently topping the WTC points table followed by India placing second. India needs to win the test series to play Australia in the final. 

This Test series also concludes the WTC 2021-23 cycle. The BCCI also confirmed that this will be the last 4-match Test series between the two teams. The first test begins in Nagpur from February 9-13.

The second Test will be played from February 17-21 in Delhi. Dharamsala hosts the third IND vs AUS Test match from Match 1-5. The Test series concludes with the fourth and final Test match in Ahmedabad between March 9-13.

The BCCI has announced a 17-member Test side for the first two Test matches. Rohit Sharma will lead the 17-member Indian Test team which has the likes of Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravichandran Ashwin, KL Rahul, and Mohammed Shami amongst others. Rishabh Pant is ruled out of the Test series owing to his unfortunate injury. Ravindra Jadeja’s participation in this series is also subject to fitness. 

Both teams then play a three-match ODI series between March 17-22. The first ODI will be played in Mumbai (March 17) followed by the second and the third in Vizag (March 19) and Chennai (March 22) respectively.

Kuldeep has made an impact in the last few ODIs that he has played for India. After being out from the Indian side across formats for the best part of three years, Kuldeep played 8 ODIs in 2022. He picked up 12 wickets in the format. He has picked up five wickets in just two matches already in 2023.

He was picked among the probable 20-member squad for the ODI World Cup later this year. For him to play in the next ODI World Cup at home, Kuldeep has to keep taking wickets and the three-match ODI series against Australia is an important one for him.
