Former India captain and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president, Sourav Ganguly, has made a massive remark on head coach Rahul Dravid. The 50-year-old said that Dravid will turn around the Indian team.
Dravid took over as the head coach of the India National Cricket Team after the exit of the Ravi Shastri-led coaching staff. Shastri, Bharat Arun and R Sridhar stepped down from their respective roles following ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021.

With the arrival of Rahul Dravid & Co., many expected the fortunes of the Indian team to change overnight. However, it has not been the case and India have not done well in the multi-nation tournaments. India failed to qualify for the final of the Asia Cup 2022 and then faced a humiliating defeat against England in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 semi-final.
Sharing his views on Dravid’s tenure as head coach, Ganguly said that the head coach has done a good job and he is still new in the setup. He also urged the fans to give Dravid some more time.

“He has done very well except for the T20 World Cup. The team still went to the semifinals and was just one match away from the final. He will do well. You have to give him time, he has just had one year. It’s too short a time for a coach. He will turn this team around,” Ganguly said during an interview with Sportstar.

Former BCCI president added that under head coach Dravid several good players like Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav have emerged.
“You can see Shubman Gill emerging as a very good batter and you will see a few others develop as well. There’s Surya (Suryakumar Yadav), who has done well in the shorter format. So, you have to give some time to Rahul. He will do well,” noted Ganguly.
Rahul Dravid & Co. will face a big challenge when the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 begins. The marquee four-match Test series between India and Australia is all set to commence on February 9. The series opener will be played at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Jamtha, Nagpur from February 9 to 13.
The Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 holds great importance and it is very crucial for India’s hopes of qualifying for the final of the ICC World Test Championship.
