Ravindra Jadeja is scheduled to join the India Test squad in Nagpur this week in preparation for the first Test against Australia, which starts on February 9. Ravindra Jadeja proved his match fitness with a successful comeback to play in the Ranji Trophy.
In a Ranji Trophy game for Saurashtra against Tamil Nadu, Jadeja tested his physical preparedness.

In his final group-stage match for Saurashtra against Tamil Nadu last week in Chennai, Jadeja bowled 41.1 overs and picked up a seven-for in the second innings, giving him back the confidence he claimed to be seeking after being sidelined from cricket since having surgery on his right knee in September.
Jadeja remarked after that performance that he was hopeful and “good to go” for the Australia series. He was included in India’s Test squad subject to passing fitness tests.

Ravindra Jadeja is now back at the NCA to complete his final round of fitness testing:
One of the BCCI’s physiotherapists travelled with Jadeja to keep a close eye on his physical condition. Jadeja has returned to the NCA to complete his last set of fitness tests. The final Test Jadeja participated in was the lone match against England in Birmingham in July 2022. While competing at the Asia Cup in late August, he felt pain in his right knee, which has bothered him for years.
Jadeja’s knee surgery prevented him from being chosen for the T20 World Cup. Although he was included in the squad for the two-test tour to Bangladesh, his inclusion was contingent on his physical condition, and he was ultimately excluded.
He was also excluded from the white-ball home series against Sri Lanka and New Zealand due to the lengthening of his rehabilitation. However, the selectors believed Jadeja could play in the Ranji Trophy to assess his readiness for the Australia series after receiving permission from the NCA.
