Australian Cricket Team had won the toss & opted to bowl first in the 2nd ODI at Vizag. Aussies made 2 changes as Nathan Ellis replaced Glenn Maxwell who had an injury whereas Alex Carey came back into the team in place of Josh Inglis. India on the other hand, dropped Ishan Kishan & Shardul Thakur and skipper Rohit Sharma & Axar Patel came back into the team. Suryakumar Yadav was preferred over Ishan Kisha which was quite shocking. Suryakumar Yadav hasn’t been able to dominate the terms in the ODI format.

The Men in Blue had a shaky start as in the very first over, Mitchell Starc got rid of Shubman Gill. Rohit Sharma & Virat Kohli were slowly getting into the groove as at the end of 4 overs, India’s score was 32-3. Mitchell Starc was bowling the 5th over and on the 4th delivery, Starc took the massive wicket of Rohit Sharma by bowling a wide delivery. Suryakumar Yadav came into bat and on the very first ball, Starc trapped Suryakumar where it looked like a repeat dismissal of the 1st ODI where Starc bowled an inswinger & trapped him.

Suryakumar now has two back-to-back ducks in the ODI series. The Men in Blue are in a precarious position at 32-3 in 4.5 overs. It would be interesting to see how the duo of KL Rahul & Virat Kohli play from now onwards. Virat Kohli would be tested and it won’t be wrong to say that Smith would give Starc a couple of more overs in the power-play overs.

Australia would sense that they have a got a golden chance to stamp their authority. The decision to give the new ball to Cameron Green has been pretty fruitful where he has bowled impeccable lines & lengths. The Men in Blue need to play out the powerplay overs cautiously and it looks unlikely that this track is a 280 one.
