Australia were brilliant with the bat in the first Test against Pakistan. However, the same cannot be said about their bowling. Though it wasn’t an ideal pitch to bowl at but Australia could only manage to pick four wickets in the entire Test match.
Heading into the second Test match, we could expect changes in the playing XI. Here’s a look at our predicted playing XI of the Australian Cricket Team for the second Test.
PAK vs AUS: Australia’s Predicted Playing XI Against Pakistan, Pakistan vs Australia, 2nd Test
Openers: David Warner and Usman Khawaja

Both the batsmen looked in top form in the first Test match. Usman Khawaja missed out on a century by just 3 runs, while David Warner managed to score 68 runs in 114 balls, a knock which was laced with 12 fours. Both will be key to Australia’s fortune in the second Test and Australia would be wanting them to give the team a solid start with the bat.
Middle-Order: Marnus Labuschagne, Steven Smith, Travis Head and Alex Carey

Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith are important cogs in Australia’s batting line-up. Both will have the responsibility to score runs consistently and give Australia the best chance to win the Test.
The duo did a great job with the bat in the last game and you expect them to continue their good run. Travis Head and Alex Carey didn’t make great returns but they should hold on to their position in the playing XI.
All-rounder: Cameron Green

Cameron Green played a good-looking knock of 48 runs in 109 balls, a knock which was laced with 4 fours. He, however, missed on a well-deserved half-century by just 2 runs. With the ball, he couldn’t pick a wicket. Mitchell Marsh is also another option waiting in the wings but Green should continue to be part of the playing XI.
Bowlers: Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Lyon, and Mitchell Swepson

Lyon didn’t have a great outing with the ball in the last Test match. He managed to pick only one wicket. However, he is likely to come good at Karachi, where the pitch is helpful to the spinners. And for this very reason, Mitchell Swepson is likely to make his Test debut. Mitchell Starc, who looked ineffective with the ball, might make way for him. ‘
