Pakistani pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi came out on top in the intense but spirited duel with Australian opener, David Warner, on Day 4 of the third and final Test between the two sides in Lahore.

At the end of play on Day 3, Shaheen and Warner were involved in a light-hearted staredown before both of them smiled it off. The match has been played in great sportsman spirit so far and it continued as the Test series reached its final stages.

Australia started out in fine fashion on the fourth day, scoring runs at a brisk pace. Warner chose to be the aggressor while Usman Khawaja stayed firm at the other end. They took the visitors to 96/0, building up the total lead to 219 runs.

In the penultimate over of the first session, Shaheen bowled a peach of a delivery to dismiss Warner. Coming from over the wicket, Shaheen angled one in but it moved away sharply. Warner was covering the line of the ball and failed to account for the movement.

The off-stump was sent cartwheeling as Shaheen celebrated Pakistan’s first wicket in the second innings. He went on to have a friendly chat with Warner before they shook hands and separated.

Earlier, after putting up 391 on the board, the Australians were sent on a leather hunt by the Pakistani top-order. However, the pace duo of Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins wreaked havoc with the reverse-swinging old ball.

They took the last 7 wickets for just 20 runs, ensuring Pakistan collapsed from 248/3 to 268-all out. Cummins became only the 4th Australian to take a 5-wicket haul on Pakistan soil while Starc himself took four wickets.
