A hilarious incident took place in the second Test match of the two-match Test series between New Zealand National Cricket Team and Bangladesh National Cricket Team as Kiwi opening batsman Will Young scored 7 runs off 1 ball at Hagley Oval, Christchurch after the fielding blunder by Mominul Haque-led side.

Bangladesh registered a historic win over New Zealand in the first Test at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui. As the Mominul Haque-led Bangladesh defeated Tom Latham-led New Zealand by 8 wickets in the first Test match of the two-match Test series.

This was the first-ever Test win of Bangladesh against New Zealand and the first-ever win against New Zealand in New Zealand across all formats. Also, this was the first away Test win of Bangladesh against a team in the top five of the ICC Rankings.

Although Bangladesh won that game they made a silly mistake by taking a DRS for an LBW when veteran Kiwi batsman Ross Taylor was clearly middling the ball, and they got trolled heavily for it on social media.

Meanwhile, in the second game, Bangladesh players made a bizarre yet hilarious fielding error. The incident happened in the last ball of the 26th over when opening batsman Will Young was facing off Ebadot Hussain, the Black Caps batsman nicked a delivery towards the first slip and the fielder from the second slip dived to his left and tried to grab the ball but was unable to complete the catch and the ball deflected and went towards the fine leg.

Meanwhile, the batters – Will Young and skipper Tom Latham completed three runs before the ball was stopped near the boundary line. The ball was then thrown to wicketkeeper-batsman Nurul Hussain and he made an attempt to run the batsman out and threw the ball towards the non-striker’s end.

However, there was no backup fielder ready to stop the ball and it went towards the straight boundary and Ebadot gave it a chase but it was not enough to stop the ball and New Zealand got a total of 7 runs from that delivery including 4 runs for the overthrow and 3 runs by running between the wickets.

Meanwhile, earlier in the game Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bowl first and the decision didn’t favour the side as Kiwi openers batted exceptionally well. Young got dismissed after scoring a fifty but skipper Tom Latham completed the 150 runs mark and Devon Conway also smashed half-century.
