Bangladesh All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan Set To Return Home Due To Family Emergency After The Conclusion Of 3rd ODI vs South Africa

Star Bangladesh National Cricket Team all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is all set to return home on March 24 due to a family emergency, after the conclusion of the three-match ODI series against the South Africa National Cricket Team.

The last match of the three-match ODI series between South Africa and Bangladesh, which is a series decider, is being played at the SuperSport Park, Centurion. Notably, Bangladesh had won the first match by 38 runs and South Africa won the second game by 7 wickets.

Meanwhile, Shakib’s mother Shirin Reza has been admitted to the hospital due to a heart infection, his second daughter Eyzah Al Hasan has been admitted to the hospital due to pneumonia and his youngest son Errum Hasan is suffering from a fever.

Previously, Bangladesh Cricket Board offered Shakib Al Hasan to return home but he refused the offer and decided to take part in the crucial 3rd encounter against the Temba Bavuma-led side.

We are not ruling Shakib Al Hasan out of the Test series – Minhajul Abedin

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief selector Minhajul Abedin told Cricbuzz that the spin-bowling all-rounder will return home but they will not rule him out of the Test series as he is expected to take a decision on his participation in the Test series after assessing the condition of his family members.

”Yes, he is returning home tomorrow (March 24), We are not ruling him out of the Test series yet considering he will take a decision after assessing the condition of his family members,” Minhajul told.

According to a report in Cricbuzz, Shakib will most likely not take part in the first match of the two-match Test series against South Africa, which will be played at the Kingsmead, Durban from March 31. However, there is a possibility he will be part of the playing XI in the second Test, which will be played at St George’s Park, Port Elizabeth from April 7.
