After suffering a defeat in the first ODI against Bangladesh, South Africa made a rollicking comeback in the three-match ODI series on Sunday. Temba Bavuma and Co. beat Bangladesh by 7 wickets to level the series 1-1.
The third and final match is scheduled to be played on Wednesday at SuperSport Park in Centurion. In this article, we take a look at our predicted playing XI of the South African Cricket Team for the third ODI.
SA vs BAN: South Africa’s Predicted Playing XI Against Bangladesh, South Africa vs Bangladesh, 3rd ODI
Openers: Quinton de Kock and Janneman Malan
After missing out the first ODI, Quinton de Kock played an outstanding match-winning knock of 62 runs in 41 balls in the second match, including 9 fours and 2 fours. He is the man in form and will be the one to watch out for on Wednesday. Janneman Malan should accompany him as the second opener. He hasn’t scored a big knock in the recent past and would be looking to score one on Wednesday.
Middle-Order: Kyle Verreynne, Temba Bavuma, Rassie van der Dussen and David Miller
Kyle Verreynne played ahead of Aiden Markam in the second ODI and played a valuable knock of 58 runs in 77 balls, a knock which was laced with 4 fours and 2 sixes. His knock should help him retain his place in the eleven for the third ODI.
At number four will be Temba Bavuma, followed by Rassie van der Dussen and David Miller. All three are in great form and you expect them to hold on to their places in the playing XI.
All-rounder: Marco Jansen
Wayne Parnell got injured in the second ODI after bowling only 2.5 overs. He is unlikely to play the second ODI and might make way for Marco Jansen in the playing XI. The latter played the first ODI and returned with figures of 2 for 57 in 10 overs.
Bowlers: Kagiso Rabada, Keshav Maharaj, Tabraiz Shamsi and Lungi Ngidi
Kagiso Radaba starred with the ball in the last match. He wreaked havoc with the ball and managed to pick 5 wickets in the match. He will be the one to watch out for in the bowling department. Lungi Ngidi too was brilliant with the ball and he should share the fast bowling duties with Rabada. As for the spin, T Shamsi and K Maharaj will be their biggest bets.
