3. Ishant Sharma
Ishant Sharma was a crucial Test pacer for India till November 2021, when he last played in a Test series against New Zealand. Sharma was part of the ICC WTC final in 2021 against New Zealand, which India lost by 8 wickets. Later, the right-pacer lost his place in the Test side to young pacers emerging to the top.
Sharma has reached 35 years of age and has not played any Test for India for the last two years. His Test comeback is almost impossible. Hence, if the Delhi Capitals pacer is not picked in the IND vs ENG Test series, he can announce his retirement from the red-ball format.

2. Umesh Yadav
Umesh Yadav got a chance into India’s Test side for the ICC World Test Championship 2023 final vs Australia. However, due to his poor show in the crucial match that India lost, Umesh Yadav was snubbed from the Test side.
The right-arm pacer was absent from the start of the new WTC cycle 2023-25 and did not feature in the Test series against West Indies and South Africa. Umesh Yadav has turned 36 years old.
Selectors have given opportunities to young pacers like Mukesh Kumar, Prasidh Krishna, and Avesh Khan in the longest format in recent times. Hence, Umesh Yadav will not be able to make his comeback to the Test side. The right-arm pacer might drop the hat if he is not selected in the IND vs ENG Test series.

1. Jayant Yadav
Jayant Yadav is a vanshied spinner from the India Test Team. However, he has yet to pull the curtains down on his Test career. The right-arm spinner last played in the Test series against Sri Lanka in March 2022.
However, due to his poor outing with the ball, the off-spinner was dropped from the Test team. Later, he was also absent from the ICC WTC final in 2023. The 33-year-old has played 6 Tests for India and lacks international exposure.
With spinners like Kuldeep Yadav, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, and Ravindra Jadeja making a mark in red-ball cricket, Jayant Yadav will not be seen once again in the Indian jersey. If he is not picked in the IND vs ENG Test series, Jayant Yadav might retire from Test cricket.
