Pakistan Team crashed in T20 World Cup 2024
Led by Babar Azam, the Pakistan team gave a formidable show in ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The Men-in-Green failed to qualify for the Super 8 round after losing two crucial games against the USA and India in the Group Stage.
Babar Azam faced a shocking defeat to the United States in the super over in their first match which came as the biggest upset in the T20 World Cup 2024.
Later, they also lost to India by 6 runs when they needed almost run-a-ball at one stage to chase down a mere 120 runs in 20 overs.
Pakistan won the other game against Canada and needed a victory against Ireland to move to the next game. However, the PAK vs IRE clash was washed out due to rain, showering their hopes of reaching Super 8.
After the Babar Azam and Co. failures, there was a huge uproar among fans, former players, experts, and even active Pakistan commentators.

Other former cricketers present in the meeting also criticized some ideas. For instance, they were annoyed with the selection of Azam Khan and Usman Khan over Abdullah Shafique and Salman Ali Aqua.
Some also slammed the idea of keeping three spinners in the squad in the West Indies and the United States.
They also gave ideas to promote Under-19 cricket and their access to top-level coaches for the better of Pakistan Cricket in the future.
No decision taken so far related to Babar Azam: PCB Chief
PCB chief Naqvi did not reveal the details of the conversation after the meeting. However, he informed the media he held the meeting with former Pakistan Test players for the betterment of Pakistan cricket.
"There is, however, no decision taken so far related to Babar Azam. I'm only speaking to those former cricketers who are interested in the betterment of Pakistan cricket," Naqvi was quoted as saying by Geo News.
Meanwhile, Babar Azam is still the skipper of Pakistan and a decision to change the captaincy is yet to be taken.
Notably, he was removed as skipper last year after the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, however, he wasreinstated as white-ball captain just ahead of T20 World Cup 2024.
