Shubman Gill is one of the openers that India has picked for the upcoming IND vs SL T20I series. During the Sri Lanka tour of India 2023, India is set to play three T20Is and three ODIs against Sri Lanka. The three T20I games take place on January 3, 5, and 7.

The opener has played 15 Tests and 13 ODIs where he amassed 736 and 687 runs averaging 32 and 57.25 respectively. He may debut in T20I in 2023. He has 1 ton and 4 fifties in both formats. While he scored his maiden ton in the preceding 2nd Test against Bangladesh, he was awarded Man of the series in the ODI series against West Indies and Zimbabwe where he amassed 205 and 245 runs respectively averaging 102.5 and 122.5.
