The Ranveer Singh-starrer 83′ will finally release on December 25 after being pushed back multiple times owing to the Covid outbreak. The film is based on Kapil Dev‘s legendary World Cup-winning team of 1983 which put India on the world map of Cricket.

The movie was earlier set to be released in the month of June 2021. Unfortunately, the decision to cancel the scheduled date was made after the second wave of Covid stormed India in March-April. Although the virus hasn’t been fully dealt with, things are almost back to normal.

The actor took to Twitter where he made the announcement. “It’s time…… 83 IN CINEMAS THIS CHRISTMAS. Releasing in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam #Thisis83,” the caption for the post said.

The movie 83′ will see Deepika Padukone play Ranveer Singh’s on-screen wife

The cast of the movie includes famous actress, Deepika Padukone, in the role of Ranveer Singh’s character’s wife. Veteran actors, Amrish Puri and Boman Irani are also playing major roles in the film. The movie is directed by Kabir Khan and produced in a joint venture by Padukone, Sajid Nadiadwala, and two others.
