The ACC Men's U19 Asia Cup 2026 is currently underway; on Sunday, November 8, it is a high-voltage clash as India U-19 faces the Pakistan U-19 side. During the important match, two legendary batters, Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid’s son, are playing in this game. Aaryavir Sehwag and Anvay Dravid failed in this important clash.
The match is being played at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground (Ministry Turf 2), Al Amerat. This is an important match, and a win for either team would seal their place in the semi-final of the tournament. So both teams would want to win this game and qualify for the knockout round of the tournament, with both teams having won one game each so far.
Aaryavir Sehwag and Anvay Dravid fail in crucial match
Aaryavir Sehwag and Anvay Dravid are always in the headlines due to their respective fathers’ legacy in cricket. The two in the game against Pakistan failed to impress, as Aaryavir Sehwag was dismissed for 22 runs off 40 deliveries in this match, smashing just one four and one six. The young opener would be under pressure after his failure.
On the other hand, Anvay Dravid, who is a wicketkeeper-batter, was dismissed for just 10 runs. As the middle-order batter, he did not wait to build a partnership and gave his wicket away as he tried to play a lofted inside-out shot, but the ball did not go as expected into the gap; it edged and went to deep cover, and he was dismissed.
Aaryavir Sehwag's recent form
Aaryavir Sehwag impressed in the first match against the Nepal U19 National Cricket Team. He played an unbeaten innings of 70 runs off 52 deliveries and showcased amazing class and big-hitting skills in the match. In this match, he smacked seven fours and four sixes and impressed everyone. The young Men in Blue won the game by 10 wickets.
Aaryavir, who is still young, should not be compared to his father, Virender Sehwag. As the two are completely different, the young batter should be left alone and make his own way into the game. The younger Sehwag has only played 4 YODI matches and scored 131 runs with an average of 32.75 and a good strike rate of over 90.
Anvay Dravid's record
Anvay Dravid did not get to bat in the first game, as the match was finished by two openers, skipper Lakshya Rajesh Raichandani and Aaryvir. However, when he got a chance in the second game, he failed to deliver. He is still a 17-year-old as he looks to develop and improve his skills.
The younger Dravid has played five games for the U-19 side in the ODI format and has scored 132 runs with an average of 31.60 and a brilliant strike rate of 123.43. As he bats in the middle order, his job is sometimes to finish the games in good style, which he has done well. He has scored one half-century in this format.
