'Absolutely Disgraceful': Glenn Maxwell Disgusted At Aaron Finch's Family Receiving Vile Threats Over The Australian Captain's Poor Form

Australia’s limited-overs all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has been left disgusted with some of the vile insults dished out at Aaron Finch and his family on account of his poor form with the bat. Aaron Finch’s wife, Amy Griffiths, reportedly received online abuse apart from threats of sexual assault and violence over Instagram. Glenn Maxwell derided such behaviour, asking people to stop practising such acts.

Aaron Finch has been struggling for form since the 2020-21 edition of Big Bash League. The Australian captain managed only 179 runs for the Melbourne Renegades in 13 matches at 13.76, keeping a strike rate of 113.29. Finch’s runs have also dried in the ongoing five-match T20I series in New Zealand, having scores of 1 and 12. Furthermore, the Australian team finds itself 0-2 down in the rubber.

Amy Griffiths responded to some of the pathetic threats she received, saying that she does not want to give them the satisfaction of a response; however, such things happen far too often. Griffiths expressed her anger at people not supporting the explosive opener, who is doing his best to get in form and that the ‘keyboard warriors’ need to get a life.

“Part of me doesn’t want to give this individual the satisfaction of a response, but this kind of crap happens far too often! I don’t appreciate it, neither does my husband who is battling and doing everything he possibly can to get back into the runs. Honestly, these keyboard warriors need to go and get a bloody life. This isn’t even one of the worst that has come my way, but I’ve had enough!” Griffiths stated as quoted by Fox Sports.

Glenn Maxwell took to his official Twitter handle and asked people to stop such behaviour and as human beings, one should act like one. The Victorian and Aaron Finch’s mate called such conducts downright disgraceful.
