The AFG vs IRE series continues with the three-match ODI series. The matches will be played on March 7, 9 and 12. All the three matches will be played in Sharjah. The first ODI starts at 5 pm IST.
Ireland won the Only Test against Afghanistan marking their maiden Test win. They chased down 111 in the fourth innings to win the match after they were 39/4 at one point. Skipper Andrew Balbirnie guided the team home with an unbeaten 58. Lorcan Tucker scored an unbeaten 27 off 57 balls as the duo shared an unbeaten 72-run stand to take Ireland to a famous win.
Afghanistan, heading into this ODI series continues to miss Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman. While Rashid is still recovering from his lower back surgery, Mujeeb is recovering from a right phalanx sprain that has ruled him out of the series.
Afghanistan have added three uncapped players to the squad. Left-arm spin bowling allrounder Nangyal Kharoti, right-arm offspinner Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar who played in this year’s U-19 World Cup, and right-arm quick Bilal Sami are the three new faces.
Hasmatullah Shahidi will lead the side as he did in the Test match. The Afghanistan squad has Azmatullah Omarzai, Mohammad Nabi, and Gulbadin Naib the three key all-rounders. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zardanb form the formidable opening pair. , Fazalhaq Farooqi and Noor Ahmad are the key bowlers in the absence of Rashid and Mujeeb.
The Ireland squad has known faces with Paul Stirling leading the ODI side. The side has the likes of Balbirnie and Harry Tector as their key top-order batters. The side has a nice mix of all-rounders with skipper Paul Stirling himself, Curtis Campher, Gareth Delany, and George Dockrell.

Mark Adair, Barry McCarthy, and Craig Young form the pace bowling trio. Adair was the Mn of the Match in the only Tets as he took 8 wickets in the match including a fifer in the first innings.

Eurosport has bagged the broadcasting rights of the AFG vs IRE series in India. It broadcasted the Only Test and will also broadcast the ODI and T20I series as well. The channel will broadcast all Afghanistan overseas matches till 2027.
