The AFG vs PNG T20 World Cup 2024 match will be played in Trinidad on June 14 from 6 am IST which is 8.30 pm local time. This is the third game for the two teams.

Afghanistan have won their first two games by big margins. They beat Uganda by 125 runs and then defeated the mighty New Zealand by 84 runs as they defended 160. They bowled the Kiwis out for 75 runs in their first-ever meeting in T20 World Cups. It was also their first match against New Zealand in T20Is.

Afghanistan have been thoroughly dominant in this World Cup campaign so far. Their openers have set the platform with the bat and the likes of Fazalhaq Farooqi, Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmed, and Mohammad Nabi have shone with the ball.

Rashid's three-wicket spell helped the Afghans down the Kiwis in the previous game who looked completely out of sorts. They should aim for another big win against PNG and also can beat the West Indies in their last Group game.

Papua New Guinea having qualified for the T20 World Cups for the very first time did get the first taste of international cricket. They fought till the end defending 137 against the West Indies. Against Uganda, they were bowled out for 77.

They have two more matches to follow and should look to give their best in the next two games. This has been a great learning experience for the side.
