Afghanistan are currently taking on Sri Lanka in the last league match of the Asia Cup 2023. The Dasun Shanaka-led cruised at one stage and it was none other than Rashid Khan who brought his side back in the game at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
Sri Lanka were off to a brisk start in the game as they played quite aggressively, stitching 63 runs for the opening partnership. However, Gulbadin Naib after that picked three wickets in quick succession of time and brought his side back in the game.
Charith Asalanka and Kusal Mendis then slowly took the game away from Afghanistan as they stitched a vital partnership. The Hashmatullah Shahidi-led side looked down and dusted but it was Rashid Khan who broke the partnership.
Rashid Khan removed Charith Asalanka for 36 runs. He bowled a googly on the fuller side. The batter tried to chip it but he played straight towards the bowler as he wanted to sneak a single and bring Mendis on the strike.
Rashid Khan, who has having bad hip/lower back problem showed great caution as he quickly switched to his right in his followthrough and completed a low diving catch. Here’s the video of his sensational show off his own bowling.
