Afghanistan Reveals Home Series Schedule Against Pakistan

A three-match T20I series between Afghanistan and Pakistan is scheduled to take place in Sharjah later this month. The two countries will play a bilateral series of numerous games for the first time during this series.

All three games will be played at the same location, with the series beginning on March 25 and the final T20I being played on March 29. Just one ODI and one T20I between the two sides have been played in Sharjah, both of which Pakistan won in 2012 and 2013. The only other encounters between the two neighbouring nations were in multi-team competitions.

Afghanistan And Pakistan Cricket Boards Excited For Thrilling Series

The Chairman of the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), Mr Mirwais Ashraf, expressed his excitement for the series and hoped to extend Afghanistan’s cricketing ties with Pakistan. He said, “We are hopeful and looking forward to extending our ties with PCB, as well as continuing great partnerships and frequent cricketing assignments with them, which will help us further strengthen our team and our cricket altogether.

“Overall, we are excited to host and play Pakistan in what will be a thrilling series of cricket games between the two countries.”

The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mr Najam Sethi, also expressed his delight over the inaugural T20I series between the two nations. He said, “I am delighted that the inaugural Pakistan versus Afghanistan T20I series will be played later this month in a city that has a large ex-pat community and which has always supported cricketers from both countries.”

Due to the presence of some of the finest T20 players in the world on both sides, the series is expected to be thrilling. Afghanistan has been producing outstanding cricket recently and has established itself as a formidable T20 squad. Pakistan, which features some of the top players in the world, has always been a force to be reckoned with in the T20 format.
