Former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir once again predicted trouble for the India National Cricket Team ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026 Final against the New Zealand National Cricket Team on Sunday, March 8, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
India’s road to the final under captain Suryakumar Yadav has had a mix of dominant and close wins. The defending champions won all their matches in the group stage, but then suffered a crushing defeat against South Africa in the Super 8 match. Even some of their matches exposed several of India’s weaknesses, yet the Men in Blue made it to the title clash.
Mohammad Amir predicts big trouble for India before the T20 World Cup 2026 final
Even after the Indian cricket team proved many critics wrong by reaching the T20 World Cup 2026 final, Amir is still not convinced. He predicted that New Zealand, which is chasing its first-ever T20 World Cup title, will break millions of Indian hearts in the summit clash in Ahmedabad.

Amir has pointed out that the Men in Blue have not looked like a complete unit throughout the tournament; only a couple of individual match-winning performers have carried them to the final, while the Black Caps have looked balanced and dangerous in every department.
Amir calls Bumrah and Samson India’s main pillars
Mohammad Amir said on Geo News’ ‘Haarna Mana Hai’ show, "If you look at New Zealand, they gave a complete performance against South Africa in the semi-final. As a team, they have been giving complete performances. If you look at India, I still think they are winning because of just two players. Jasprit Bumrah and Sanju Samson have been having a big impact.”
He added, “The Narendra Modi Stadium will suit New Zealand. Looking at the bowling department, I think New Zealand are in better form than India. Apart from Bumrah, I don't think anyone else is in form. Both Varun Chakaravarthy and Hardik Pandya are struggling.”

Well, the former Pakistan pacer has stressed that both teams have “identical batting” and good players, but New Zealand's bowling attack is in red-hot form while India are just too dependent on Bumrah. Given that, Amir said, “I believe New Zealand will win.”
Q: If New Zealand bowls first against India tomorrow, who will win the T20 WC final?

Pakistan panel divided over the final prediction
Interestingly, not every Pakistani agreed with Amir’s prediction during the discussion. Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif and batter Ahmed Shehzad backed India to lift the trophy.
Well, Mohammad Amir didn’t stop there, as he posted a video on his YouTube channel and reiterated that the Black Caps are favorites to win the T20 World Cup 2026 final against India.

The former bowler added, “New Zealand will give a very tough time to India. Reaching the final is an achievement for both teams, but overall, New Zealand looks the stronger side in bowling, batting, and fielding. I think they have the edge and will beat India in the final.”
