Senior players were jealous of my good looks: Ahmed Shehzad
While speaking during a podcast 'Excuse Me' on Ahmad Ali Butt's YouTube channel, Ahmed Shehzad spoke his heart out about having faced the consequences of good looks. The 33-year-old claims that cricketers in Pakistan get judged based on their looks.
"I have faced a lot of consequences because of this (good looks). We are in the field where people get judged (on the basis of their looks) in Pakistan. When we were young, we didn't have that much idea. At that time, we used to play with flamboyance for Pakistan Under-19, Pakistan A, and then the senior team," Shehzad said.
Shehzad alleged Pakistan's former and senior player was jealous of him as he was more presentable in front of the camera. He claims himself as the "victim" of this incident.
"Some of our senior players, especially the ex-players keep getting jealous if you have good looks. If you're a little presentable, if you know what to wear, and what to speak, the differences keep getting bigger (between the player and the seniors). You won't believe that I am the victim of this thing. That's why I am talking about this," he added.
