Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja does not want the board to indulge in Rahul Dravid’s coaching vision for the next five years and requests BCCI to allow Dravid to be himself. Rahul Dravid will take up the role of Indian head coach after the T20 World cup 2021, and he will be replacing Ravi Shastri, who has done a very good job in his tenure in forming an excellent team.

Rahul Dravid was at the NCA for the head coach role in the last two years, and he had earlier wanted to extend his stint with NCA. However, the BCCI had convinced Rahul Dravid later to apply for the Indian head coach role position. It was one of the biggest positives for the Indian team considering the future.

Ajay Jadeja Sees Rahul Dravid As The Role Model For Discipline And Dedication

Ajay Jadeja felt that Rahul Dravid’s discipline and dedication will be two factors in helping his coaching stint for any side and was curious to know if Dravid would have a say in picking the next Indian T20 captain. However, he added that Dravid should be free to do his work, and nothing should be imposed on him which will disturb his vision by any means.

“If there’s a role model of discipline and dedication, it’s Rahul Dravid. You want a lot of things from a coach, but discipline and dedication are probably the two prime things. It will be interesting to see who will make the next T20 captain – Rahul Dravid or [the selectors].

There’s no doubt in his individual praise, but when someone becomes an Indian coach, if you don’t let him work or don’t use his vision, then it’s all redundant. Anyone can be a coach in that way,” Ajay Jadeja told Cricbuzz.

“Don’t Tell Him How To Run The Team” – Ajay Jadeja

Ajay Jadeja urged the BCCI to stick with Rahul Dravid’s vision and requested them to understand his strengths. He added that BCCI should not be telling him how to run the side.

“So if you have brought Rahul Dravid, the biggest name, then at least go with his vision. This is my request to the board… If a man like Rahul Dravid has joined, then please, please move alongside his vision, understanding and dedication, don’t tell him how to run the team,” he added.
