I think Rahul Bhai has got [an] immense depth of knowledge, and he has got a good vision for anything he does in life, he’s got amazing vision. He’s someone who has done the hard yards, I would say.

In times when people having played the game at the highest level believe that they can contribute to the teams being coaches, Rahul Bhai has gone through the journey and grind of being at NCA, gone through the Indian A team [as well],” Ashwin was quoted as saying in a pre-match press conference ahead of India’s clash against Scotland.

I think, he knows what’s in store, what’s in the future, who’s playing right now. He has played with some of us inside this dressing room. He also knows all the young boys, and if there’s anyone who you can pull a little bit of knowledge from, it’s Rahul Bhai, and I’m really looking forward to the stint to be alongside Rahul Bhai and being of use to the team in any way possible,” Ashwin added.

Ashwin featured in India’s crushing win over Afghanistan, picking up figures of 2/14 in four overs. They will be up against Scotland tomorrow night in Dubai.
