Amazon may have parted ways with the Indian Premier League (IPL), but it now has the International Cricket Council in its sights (ICC).
Insiders in the company have told Cricbuzz that the ICC media rights bid, which is open for one event per year, is a perfect fit for the organization’s plan to sell yearly subscriptions. International Cricket Council rights are valid from 2024 until 2031.

The US company, which mostly deals in e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence, has lately met with International Cricket Council officials on several occasions; the most recent was in June in the UK. Meetings in India, Dubai, and the US were held before.

They may even be open to a partnership with a television broadcaster so they may submit a composite proposal, according to the rumors. Three bundles are available from the ICC: TV, digital, and TV and digital combined. The prospect of a collaboration with Sony or Zee is not completely excluded, despite denials from representatives of both companies.
ICC has put out the India tender:
The Jeff Bezos company has been growing its presence in sports in its target regions. In the UK, Prime Video just purchased the rights to the Champions League, which it will share with BT starting in the 2024–25 season (for around 20 games and to the semifinals).
The massive streaming company loves to run cricket in India. The rights to New Zealand cricket are currently held by it. It was interested in submitting a proposal for the IPL digital rights, but it opted against it because Package C of the IPL tender included 18 to 22 non-exclusive games. Package C did not meet its objectives for acquiring the streaming rights exclusively.

Amazon has expressed interest in other locations, such as the UK, US, and South Africa, in its negotiations with the International Cricket Council and may submit a bid when the ICC is ready to release its tender in those countries. Currently, the International Cricket Council has released the India tender; as this website has previously stated, the American market will follow. The ICC intends to finish the auction in all significant regions by year’s end.
