The Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) general board meeting has turned into a complete crisis, with several top directors submitting their resignation. There have been strong chances that the current administration may not last much longer.
The situation escalated so quickly that even senior officials admitted the Bangladesh Cricket Board is on the verge of dissolution. The environment inside the board has become too tense, and the uncertainty has created a tense atmosphere around the entire cricket setup.
Six BCB Directors quit as internal tension exposed
As reported by Cricbuzz, four BCB directors, including Saniyan Taneem, Mehrab Alam, Faiazur Rahman, and Manjurul Alam, have resigned from their positions after the board meeting. Their shocking move came only two days after Yasir Mohammed and Faysal Ashique stepped down from their posts. Now, the total resignations have reached six.

Even before this mass departure, two more important members had already left the BCB in chaos. Amzad Hussain resigned after being removed as the Media Committee chairman, and Ishtiaque Sadeeque also left his Game Development Committee role. Both cited personal reasons, but the timing clearly showed that something was wrong inside the board.
BCB President refuses to leave
In the middle of this chaos, BCB president Aminul Islam has taken a strong stand. Islam has decided to stay in his position till the very last day. He avoided the press conference after the board meeting because he didn’t want to face criticism in front of the media, especially with the ongoing investigation into the controversial election.
But later in a TV appearance, Aminul made it clear that he is not going anywhere. He believes the remaining directors are hardworking and honest, and he wants to continue with them to protect Bangladesh cricket during this difficult time.
Claims of outside interference add more drama
Aminul also hinted that an outside group has been continuously interfering in the board’s operations. According to him, this interference has slowed down progress and made it almost impossible for the board to work freely.

The next few days will be extremely important for Bangladesh cricket. With so many directors gone, the president standing firm, and an election investigation underway, the board is under huge pressure.
I will be the last person to go till the last day: Aminul Islam
Aminul Islam said on Jamuna TV, as quoted by Cricbuzz, "I will be there holding a chair as I will be the last person to go till the last day, Inshallah. Our team (board of directors) is good, and they are dedicated and honest, so I want to work with this team and serve Bangladesh cricket.”
The president added, “We could not work with freedom for one day, as an external force was always disturbing us and still doing that. You should support us, and you know who I am meaning because without support we cannot move forward. Our cricket is stagnant, and I have said a lot of times that an external force is disturbing us, and because of that the pace of our cricket has slowed down.”
