There Was A Lot Of Spin On The Surface – Andrew McDonald
McDonald said that Alex Carey adjusted his wicketkeeping technique according to conditions and kept well against spinners on a turning track.
“Every challenge he comes up against, in terms of the conditions, and this creates a new problem for keepers standing back, the wobble, (he has been up to),” he further added.
“And there was a lot of spin on the surface as well, but the way he’s going about his work with the gloves is as good as I’ve seen from an Australian wicketkeeper for a long period of time,” he concluded.
The southpaw contributed with the bat as well in the match. He added a crucial partnership with centurion Usman Khawaja in the first innings and scored 66 runs off 99 balls. Carey scored 20 runs in the second innings before being dismissed by Joe Root’s bowling.
